Time to admit it...if people were not watching, I might have quit tonight. Not because it was exceptionally hard, I just did not feel like it. Afterall, it's National Chocolate Cake Day, shouldn't I be out celebrating instead of sweating to music? RIPT won, cake lost (ok, before the night is over it might be a tie).

Got kicked for the first time tonight, fault, cannot keep the beat, too big to miss when I am off.

Today's lesson...committment in front of others helps keep you committed. Now, got to go soak and let Jodi gloat...two classes last Friday and now she double up a little different today, clearly she is all in.

Two Weeks In

No posts for a few day ... technical difficulty (ok, and I was really tired). We've seen multiple kinds of workouts really pushing the 'muscle confusion' the program is built on. Talking with many in the class they feel it is 'working' - - - but no measurement for a week or two, a good idea.

This weekend, a little food cheating - - - after two weeks living clean I visited some old food friends, but in smaller portions....and with just that little fun I am ready for week bring it on, there is nothing left that has not hurt (ok, except maybe my hair).

Doubled up...

Yesterday, I went to the class at noon, and five thirty, to make up for what I missed on Wednesday. Let me advise to not go twice in the same day. At first, I felt fine but now almost 24 hours later, Im starting to feel the pain. When the instructors said that no two classes will be the same, they weren't kidding. The class at noon was a lot of everything, and the evening class was mostly upper body. Therefore, I hope that there is no more cancelations of classes, because it will be hard to make it up.

January 18th.

Tonight, we worked out our leg's a lot!! It was a lot more intense than I had initially thought. But you could really feel the burn as you worked your way through the hour. By the end, it felt great at the end. I'm glad that I tried my hardest the whole way through. I'm sure I will be feeling this tomorrow. (Along with those walking lunges)

Friday Night with 'the Band'

Remember the day's when the words Friday Night and Band meant fun? Not last night as RIPT finished its first week with a 'tribute to bands and balls' - introducing new devices of torture. Must admit they give quite the work out but by the time I got to the 'house of pain' and was told to get down on the mat for some ball work, the mat was saying 'nap on me' more than 'sweat it out'.

One week down, nine to go and a weekend ahead where we can rest some tired bodies, but not too much because we've heard the quest for being RIPT never really rests.

The Off Day Work Out

Part of the RIPT program is encouragment to work out on the magical fourth day...three times in RIPT and one more on your own. Last night was my 'optional' night and normal night at the gym. So is RIPT a better workout...well I know this, everything hurt, 90 minutes on my own was not enough to work out every kink from class one AND toward the end I started getting that workout energy high that comes from good I like it.

Tonight (Friday) is class #2 - I am end of the week tired - - - this should be interesting, can my body respond when my mind is not willing?

Best Workout I Ever Hated

Those were Jodi's words after RIPT night one, explaining the contrast between how hard the work was but how good it felt. Echoed again this morning. Personally, it was interesting - the classic 'things hurt I did not know I had' but overall I feel good. Apparently to do a work out like the one presented last night I need to work on my rhythm as much as my strength - - - really struggle with the combo of left, right, up, down, reverse, apologies to the lady I almost punched last night.

Tonight is my 'optional night' - they tell us we need to get that fourth workout to maximize the benefit, Thursday is my night and I look forward to working out some kinks...but at MY pace (there will be not music!!!).

First Class Full Class... Done

Tonight was the first night of the actual class, and let me say I thought I was going to be feeling a lot worse now then I actually am. As I went through the class, I could actually get my self to work, unlike my normal routine. The instructor was very upbeat and so was her music, it really got people to work! Now I think the real challenge will be tomorrow morning!!

The Morning After, Part I

So last night was welcome to RIPT....and my first experience with devices and the math that calculates how fat you are, the BMI. Let me just say this, wasn't real hungry after getting that number but it does create a different way at looking at things rather than just lose weight. Packed house full of people, think it's fair to say the instructors were way more fired up than the participants - likely a good thing, they must understand the work that awaits.

First full workout is tomorrow - - - wonder if I can lose enough weight today that I don't have to go?

So the trainers have been talking smack for months about working me over and I've not thought much about it....until it hit me, I've been sucked into a program whose acronym starts with R.I.P. - now I'm not good with the text lingo, but I know what that one as I head to the last lieberated weekend before we get started, I am wondering what the "T" stands for....and worried it means "Twinkies'.

Beginning Remarks...

So before I begin this experience, I thought I would post a little bit before I begin this. I am so excited to begin this, I am so out of shape, and this is really what I need to get my 2010 started. I know that this will not be easy but I'm ready to change my lifestyle. Today 1/5/10 I went to the Rec Center to get my self prepared for this, however, I have a feeling that this will not be an easy task. But none the less I'm excited to start, and can't wait for some amazing results!!!!

Kind of like that point between jumping off the high dive and hitting the pool....seems forever, pretty sure it will hurt when you land.
